AN AWESOME NIGHT!!!

This is Emerson Drive!
Peppermill Concert Hall

Are you kidding me?? These are my tickets and my shirt, and yes they are autographed by EMERSON DRIVE!!!!!!

Okay, I'm just letting everyone know that I have the best husband in the whole world! I know everyone thinks that about their own spouse, but seriously Shawn is great. He knows how much I love Emerson Drive, and back in December when he heard they were coming out to Wendover he said let's go. So we decided we'd get away overnight and do this for our ten year anniversary. So we bought tickets in December and we got second row. Well, Feb. 20, 09 finally came. We left and headed to Wendover. We got there in time to get our room, hang out for a bit, and then we headed to the concert hall. Seriously, I was so excited to have 2nd row tickets, but I didn't realize just what great seats we had till I got there. We were like only 5 or 6 feet away from them. And the way they seats were, it was like we were on the front row. This concert hall is so nice that I don't think there could be a bad seat, but I was glad we had the tickets we had. The concert was so AWESOME! They performed great. We were so close that I could see the sweat beads on his forehead, and the hair on his chest. When they were singing "I Should be Sleeping," Brad came and was standing right in front of me, we made eye contact and he even pointed at me cause I was singing. I pretty much knew and sang every song, except for the new ones they performed that I hadn't heard yet. After the concert we went and stood in line for them to sign autographs. I had bought a shirt, and I had them sign my shirt and my tickets. I even got to shake Brad's hand (he's the lead singer). They were all so friendly and awesome. The only thing that made me mad was we were following the rules of the concert hall which said "No cameras, and no cell phones." So we didn't have one(though most people did), and I wished I would have so I could have had my picture taken with them. Not to mention I could have gotten some kick butt pictures during the concert. Oh well. But seriously, aside from the day I got married, and having my children etc. this was the best night of my life!!! I love Emerson Drive! Walking back to the motel with Shawn, I had a skip in my step and I was so excited. I had a natural high. What a night. Too bad it ended way too soon. When we got back to the room, we rented "Twilight" and watched it because I hadn't seen it yet. I know I'm sounding a little star struck right now, but this was seriously an awesome experience for me and I needed to document it. This morning we woke up, ate breakfast, and then we went to try the slot machines. I had never ever gambled before, so I decided to give it a try. After blowing $9.00, I said to heck with it. I would never be a good gambler because I'm too much of a tight wad. It was so great to get away even just overnight. It doesn't happen very often. Thank you so much Kristi and Woody for taking the kids for us. We appreciate it. Also, thanks g-ma & g-pa Hadley for taking the kids after school, and Kandi for taking them a few hours today till we got home. It's so nice to have family that will help out. Sorry this is long and star struck, but I'm still giddy!! HaHaHa. Thanks sweetie for a great weekend and giving me the BESTEST 10 year anniversary gift!

Keegan loses his first tooth, (Wait, I mean teeth!!)

This was on Thursday night. One missing.

And then the next morning! Two were gone.

Say cheese you toothless boy! Keegan lost his first tooth on February 19, 09. He had it all but out, so I just pretty much had to take hold of it and it came out. He was so excited. Well, the tooth fairy had come the night before this for one of Shawntae's tooth that she had lost on Wednesday. So after the tooth fairy coming two nights in a row, we wake up Friday morning and within an hour Keegan had lost his other bottom tooth. He had pulled this one out all by himself. I was figuring bills at the computer and he come over bringing it to me. The rate my kids are going ther're not going to have any teeth left when we have our dental checkups in April.

Painting the bathroom

Well, I know this is Valentine's weekend, but instead of dating, chocolates, and all that other stuff I painted & redid my bathroom! Shawn had to work on Valentine's night, so that morning we gave each other our valentine presents and then I went to work with the paint. I started at around 2 pm or so and finished about 1 in the morning. Wendi came over to help me texture it up a bit. Then I painted it, and then I put a glaze over it. I am really excited how it turned out. I had bought a new shower curtain, towels, and rugs etc. I will post pics as soon as I get the rest of it done. We still have to put down some new flooring and the baseboards. It turned out good, but then for some reason, I had the idea to wake up the next morning and paint the wall in my kitchen the same way. So we started that one around 3:30 pm when Shawn left for work and I finished it up about 1 in the morning. Shawn knew I was doing the bathroom, but he didn't know about the kitched wall so he was very surprised when he got home that morning. It turned out nice too, but it will look better once I get the rest of my living room repainted. I know -- lots of fun work to do!

I Wanna Be Like My Grandpa!

For school, Keegan had a day where they had to pick a community helper and design a poster about them and write what they do, what tools they need etc. Well, Keegan chose to do a fireman because his grandpa is a fireman. It worked out great to get the picture with dad because as we were going to the fire station last week for mine & Daxten's b-day party dad had just gotten back from a call and had his gear on. So we lucked out. I personally love the picture with dad & Keeg's in front of the firetruck. I want to frame it. What a neat picture. Anyway, Keeg's had to present his poster at school and he did a great job! Thank goodness we have such wonderful volunteer firemen in our valley!

Happy birthday to me & Daxten!!

My present!! Thanks sweetie!!

Happy 30th birthday to me and Happy 1st birthday to Daxten, my little nephew who happens to be so awesome because he shares a birthday with me! No, actually I'm the one who's priveleged to share a birthday with such a great little boy. My family threw me & Daxten a surprise birthday party on Sun. Feb. 8th. The whole family was there to yell surprise & boy was I surprised. We had a great time. Daxten was able to open his birthday presents and then we were able to eat cake. They sat Daxten on this garbage bag with his own little cake to eat, and then they made me sit by him and do the same thing. I'm sure some of you got some great pictures when my dear sweet hubby came up behind me and shoved my face in the cake. Boy, did it taste good! Thanks to all my family that came to make this day special for Daxten & me. There's no place that I would have rather been to celebrate my birthday than with my family. I love you all so much and am thankful for all of you. I know there's a lot of us and a lot of kids, and it's sometimes crazy at family get togethers, but hey that's what it's all about. The picture of the 4-wheeler is what my sweet husband bought for me for my 30th birthday. Thanks sweetie, I love you so much and I am so thankful for you and all that you do. Happy birthday Daxten!!!

Shawntae's science fair

"What's in a Name?" This was the title for Shawntae's science fair project this year. She decided to do an experiment to see if people could tell the difference between name brand cereal and the value cereal (Malt-O-Meal). She took 4 different kinds of cereal; Frosted Flakes, Sugar Puffs, Froot Loops, and the Cocoa Krispies and did the taste test. Most people picked that they liked the Malt-O-Meal cereal better than the name brand Kellogg's cereal. After her taste test she had to put all her info onto a posterboard and present it in front of the judges at school. She did such a great job, and she had a fun time doing it. I guess we do get more bang for our buck buying the Malt-O-Meal cereal. It tastes better and it's cheaper than buying the box cereal!!

Superbowl Party!

My sister Kristi, and her husband, Woody, invited the whole family over to their house on Superbowl Sunday to have a superbowl party. My hubby's team, the Arizona Cardinals were playing against the Pittsburgh Steelers. We had a fun day eating lots of great food (Mmm. Thanks Jami for the seven layer dip, I could have eaten the whole tray of it!) and watching the game on their big screen. It was a great game with lots of ups & downs. Let's just say when Larry Fitzgerald (my man) made that running touch down in the 4th quarter, we were jumping up & down like crazy having a blast!!! Too bad they couldn't hold the Steelers off in the very end, we were hoping, but they played wonderful and it was an awesome game to watch. Well, Kristi your house survived all of us & the kids. Are you ready for next year? hahaha. GO CARDINALS!!
